José Orlando Padrón was born in Cuba in 1926 and grew up in a family of tobacco farmers. In the early 1960s, he left Cuba and settled in Miami, where in 1964 he started what was then a small cigar company. Padrón cigars quickly gained a reputation for their quality and consistency, and the company began to grow.

A medium to strong full-bodied smoke that builds quickly into a powerhouse of dark chocolate, anise and that unmistakeable maduro spicy edge. I smoked this slowly at a party and enjoyed it. I took a break halfway through, second half became slightly bitter. Construction was above average, draw was slightly light, room odor was unmistakebley maduro. I would recomend Padron 2000 to someone who likes a strong cigar with full flavor.

The Padron 2000 maduro is lovely pressed cigar. Rugged and dry, with a good draw. It has cocoa and cedar flavors. Medium-bodied cigar that produces an enjoyable aroma.

My Padron 2000 Maduro started off just a little rough, but quickly smoothed out nicely. Lots of flavor and a nice even burn. I caught a bit of mint at the end. Very pleasurable cigar.
