Fuente Don Carlos Robusto. I am a Fuente fan so I’ll say that from the start. The first 3rd is delicious. Even burn. Mild on the tongue. Perfume is characteristic but not overpowering. Woody, chocolaty and earthy all at the same time. The burn is approximately 15min per 3rd, obviously dependant on the draw. As a mild cigar lover, this fit in well on the profile. Ash stuck fat during the smoke. Complemented a Bordeaux cognac perfectly. Middle third intensified but still balanced. Ash held on. I am impressed. Never had one before. It will be my go-to choice. In Australia the tobacco excise is about $1900 AUD per kilogram (2.2lb). So cigars sell at a premium locally. Specials and sales are sometimes worth it even if excise has to be paid. I’m signing off now to enjoy the last half. Great smoke.
