H. Upmann 1844 Classic Cigars FAQs
Where are H. Upmann 1844 Classic cigars manufactured?
H. Upmann 1844 Classic cigars are made by hand at the Flor de Copan cigar factory in northern Honduras. The factory dates back to 1976 when it was built to handle the manufacturing for the newly formed Tabacos Hondureños. Located in the town of Santa Rosa de Copan where tobacco was first grown in the mid 1800s, making this the origin of the tobacco industry in Honduras.
Today the factory employs 650 regular staff, plus additional workers during the harvest season.
In addition to H. Upmann 1844 Classic cigars, Flor do Copan also produces cigars for the Imperial Tobacco “new world” brands made famous in Cuba, including other fine H. Upmann lines, plus San Luis Rey, Gispert and Romeo y Julieta, primarily for the US market, but available here for worldwide cigar shipping, as always.
